I currently own two evos. I have an AS 03 and a ww 05 ssl. Both are gsrs. I'm attempting to make my AS car a clean drag car and my daily is a 450hp fun street car. Modifying them both isn't easy to keep up with physically or financially haha. Still love them.

Ah, I've gotta ask what your preference is here.
Very often people like to bash either platform from the opposite.
What's your take on the VIII vs X?

I had a black 05 evo 8 first, sold it, then picked up a white 03 evo, sold it, then moved on to my electric blue evo 9, still have it, and then my fiance has a 2010 evo X se. We get married in June, so I call it mine as well.

I like them both. The X definitely handled better...but the 8 is funner to drive. The X had bolt ons and a tune and was making 340/350...the 8 has bolt ons, Kelford 272's, 1000cc inj. and makes 430/390 on E-85.
The X looks better to me (one of the most aggressive front ends of any car). I enjoy the wrenching and want to build a motor and couldn't see doing that to a brand new car...i thought I could wait but once I added some power I wanted more.

Understandable, I've never driven an X so I can't comment with any validity.
Still running a 9.8 hotside on the VIII? If so those are some serious power numbers.

Yup.

Did everyone go bigger on their 2nd or 3rd Evo? Seems that way.

I have always loved awd performance cars so I purchased a 2004 VW R32, when they first came out.
In 2006, the EVO 9 came out so, I feel in love with the Graphite Gray EVO 9 MR.

After a year of ownership the darkside was calling me. I sold my GG Evo 9 MR for Tarmac Black Evo 9 MR SE!
