Multiple Evo owners, stand up!
I'm a 4 time Evo owner, and have owned a few different generations of evos(CN9A, CP9A, CT9A, CZ4A).
I bought a Evo IX on 2006 with no plans to ever get ride of it, until a year later I got orders to Japan for 4 years.

Next I got an Evo IV GSR shortly after arriving in Japan. I kept that on for about 2 years, but it didn't have the quick steering rack I was used to and just didn't feel like what I thought an evo should feel like and I worried about the crankwalk issue.

I then decided I wanted to get a TME which is my favorite Evo model. I also wanted to make a case for importing the car so I started looking for the the much rarer RS version. It had the the quick rack and was an all around improvement to the IV and on top of that was a good bit lighter. So I found one and was able to legally import it back to the US as a racing vehicle.

When we go back my wife wanted a X, so we also picked up this 2011 GSR.

I bought my first Evo IX back in 2007 and then sold in 2008. She was the SSL model that I bought with 11K miles and sold with about 20K. The leather seats were definitely slippery but the sunroof was a nice touch.

Went through a # of cars in-between the years (Civic, 240SX, S2000, GTI vr6). Four years later (May of 2012), I picked up my keeper - TB IX SE model with 26K original miles. I love all the added options of the SE:

Here's my current build thread with some details:https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...y-back-ix.html

I had no idea the ol' Evos were prone to crankwalk, I guess it makes sense considering how much was shared with the USDM DSM's for those model years.
You still have the VI TME? How does it compare to the IX and the X?
^^^Crankwalk is really on a worry on the IV specifically, because of the center thrust bearing/oil feed design. The V and up were redesigned.
I do still have the TME. I prefer the driving experiece of the TME, but the X is way more comfortable as a DD.
The X amazes me with it's handling and how planted it feels cornering and it seems to always be able to give you more, especially considering it weighs 700+ pounds more. All it's computers sort everything out to give you the best results but it can be boring in comparison.
The RS can be rough on you, and a bit too much for just normal driving, but once you let it rip, it's a blast. It 's very raw and communicative, and it's all mechanical (no AYC ,ABS, etc.) you feel the diffs working. It will oversteer in the corners when boost kicks in and the steering wheel kicks when you get on and off the power due to the front diff locking and opening. It's loud inside and the ride is stiff, but you get much more of a sense that your have control of what the car's doing but it's not giving you complete control without a bit of a fight. That kind of feedback is what makes the car so much fun to drive, that is where the X lacks to me. My wife on the other hand feels the opposite. She likes how the X feels much more advanced and has the tech that sorts it all out for you and gives you the results, the TME feels too old-school to her and seems like you have to fight it before it does what you want.
The IX was in between those but more on scale with the X, because the old-school RS's feel so "raw".

gorgeous lineup there^
two of the same model year SSL's. Talk about sticking to preferences. Do you like leather and a sunroof that much? Or were those just the best options each time you were on the market?
