is it common that a evo will not start when you upgrade injectors. Went from stock to 720

You need to tune the car after you change injectors IIRC.

You need to have them scaled and adjust the start up enrichment and decay tables properly. If you just install the injectors and try to start you will flood the cylinder with fuel, and it wont turn over.

Scale injectors first, then do latencies make sure they are both close to zero, then do your enrichment tables, decay tables, last should. Be your maf compensation tables to ame sure your afrs are close to matching on your actual map.

It is not necessary or worth the time and effort to change the MAF scaling. Not everything has to be adjusted for new injectors unless you need additional work.

Making the fuel map look like what you actually want is useless and you will not benefit from it.

The car should still start. I went from stock to 1000cc high Z and the car started up fine. It idled rich and wouldnt rev past 2k rpm. But the car should still start, which is what the question was.

If your using the tephra I personally suggest it i was running lean with my bigger injectors, after 8 psi it leans to 13.5 and stays there, before i was at stoich, so i let off the throttle. With the stock injectors it should be fine

I would say there is an issue with latencies. Did you log battery voltage during the pull? A switch in injectors would have no impact on the maf scaling. Changing the maf scaling would be a bandaid fix for an issue with injector scaling and latencies.
