Good Bye Evo
Good Bye Evo
I live in BC, Canada. In 2008, I bought my first car also the 2003 Mitsubushi Lancer Evolution 8 for $25k CDN.
I stalled the car a good 20 times before knowing how to drive it properly.
Since stalling the car so much and riding out the clutch, I had to replace the clutch, water pump, and timing belt. I had no idea where to replace em since Canada never had the evolution before. I took it to the dealer Mitsubushi. Racked up a $6000 bill. I was heavily financially damaged due to being a gr 12 student still back then.
After my first job, I managed to save up 10k to pull out seibon cf hood, lip, ams catback, work emotion rims & tires. I made the sickest evo in BC, but all good comes to an end. Cops kept finding me to give me tickets for being too loud, no N sign, speeding even when I'm not just because of the car I drove.
I had to take out every single "heaty" part and part them out for half or less of the price I paid for them.
From then on, I rarely drove the car, always tried not to unless it was for work or school just because I was so scared to get any more tickets after my license being suspended twice.
2 weeks ago before I went for vacation, I sold him for half of what I paid 5 years ago. It was sad, yet.... satisfying. I finally let him go , for someone who will take care and mod him better than I could.
It was great being on this forum looking at parts, and how tos etc for the car, but all things come to an end. Thanks evo forums and as of now I can't afford a Evo X and won't be planning to in the future even if I had the $ anyways. To a 2012 Civic coupe i GO !

i did not like the new civics at all, i had the 2012 coupe as a daily and i did not like how they felt inside. I am not sure if oyu have really taken a look at them but imo they are not as nice as they have been in the past. I only kept mine for a couple months and ended up trading in for a 2012 lancer gt to daily drive.

Sorry u had to sell ya evo
The cops here in chicago only care if you dont have a city sticker or you are parked illegally. Other wise you could drive 55 gallon drum with a V8 and open dumps on it and they could careless.

do police really stop people JUST for having an evo? i've been pulled over once when i first bought the car, because i was cut off by a large truck and hit 90mph to pass him up. totally my fault. lol. since then, i have never been messed with in this car, and i live in cali, where big exhausts supossedly get an automatic ticket. it's been about 7 years. i love my evo! i also have the bigass wing, so no one can say it's stealth!
