I bought the RockAuto oil pan gasket too. I will be giving it a try in the coming weeks.

Next time try Loctite 7200. You spray it on the rtv and let it sit for a minute. Then just scrapes right off with no hassle.

In for review from actual users.

I am leaking oil from oil pan slightly, and interested in using one from Fel-pro if it works better than just grey Permatex sealant.

Eh, I doubt it works better. My oil pan was rusty from Chicago winters so I replaced it in august before the first snow. I used a medium bead of grey rtv around the pan when I put the new one on. There's a small lip on the oil pan you follow around making the little bead slightly on the inside of that lip as you go around. I don't see the advantage of the cork gasket and if anything I would think that would leak way before the grey rtv would. I know you asked for people who HAVE used the felpro gasket but I didn't think the other side of the coin could hurt. Especially since the oil pan bolts are super short to begin with and that felpro is kind of thick. Fyi I'm sure you know this but jic, there are different length bolts around the timing side of the engine.

Did you just torque to factory specs using that gasket? I'm just curious because the service manual torque specs are for rtv not a felpro.

Dont smooth out the bead, let the pan flatten it out when you bolt it on.

^^^^^^^^ I didn't smooth it out either when I did it. Just waited 10 minutes for it to start getting tacky and then bolted it up. Maybe that is where you went wrong.
