Clutch for mitsubishi evolution VI
Clutch for mitsubishi evolution VI
Hi all
I need to replace the clutch for my stock mitsubishi evolution VI, I was thinking to buy a ACT clutch kit, I would like to know which ACT clutch model fits better on my evo VI and any website where I can buy it online. Thanks

I would go with competition clutch in that price range over ACT, which are known for high rpm lockout issues. What model depends on your power level, their stage 2 is rated up to 450ft/lbs and is getting great reviews. For big power you'd be better off with a more expensive multi-plate clutch.
Get a clutch & flywheel combo for the CT9A, they are much more readily available and hold more power. The VI clutch and flywheel are smaller(less friction surface) so that why you need the matching set.

thank you very much guys for your help, my evo VI has not been modified at this moment so I would like to know which is the best fit in case I want to keep it stock for a couple of months more.
Thanks

I've got an Evo VI - I used to run an ACT 6 puck with HD pressure plate. It's definitely a heavier pedal than stock and needs some getting used to. Once you get the hang of it it's actually not too bad at all, and tbh I prefer the feel of the pedal compared to stock. Though, steep hill starts and reversing were interesting, they do not like being slipped. At all. I've now got a Competition Clutch stage 4, quite similar - maybe a slightly lighter pedal. Though to be fair my next clutch will probably be a twin plate.
For a stock (or close) car, definitely run with a full face clutch, much easier to live with every day. I've got no issues with either company, and would have no issues recommending either.
As stated before, make sure you get a CT9A flywheel if you're getting a late model evo clutch.

Honestly, I have act 6 puck clutch in my evo(that's what my previous owner told me) , and I won't recommend this clutch to anyone. If the car is DD, 6 puck clutch is way too much. The engagement is way too harsh for DD and you actually could break your trans/tcase. Not sure if mine is sprung or unsung, but still I won't recommend it. I'd go with exedy stage 1 clutch kit.
