It's also worth mentioning that I am running a mini radiator with a single slim fan, and the fan seems to be working fine. I also left the rad cap off the radiator during idle and no air bubbles were showing (for 10 mins).

While idling everything seemed fine, no over temp indication on the cluster, however, the min I started moving the car out of the drive way, the cluster gauge started increasing till it went to full hot. in the mean time, my logs were showing a max of 206F at most.

Any other ideas?
Thanks
OK! I was issues like this when I installed a mini radiator. ( MASS weather around 50 degrees spring time ). What fixed my issues was 1 bottle of water wetter , fresh coolant, and i replaced my OEM Theromstat with a Mishimoto thermostat. I havent had a problem since1

Thx for the suggestion. but if it was the radiator or fluids, then why do my logs read normal and gauge thermocouple spikes
I think I am gonna try to replace the small TC toward the front of the Tstat and see if that fixes the issue. I believe it is the one feeding the gauge.

Update: I ended up buying the front sensor from Autozone for around $15, installed it, flushed the system, poured new coolant (50/50)...left the rad cap off....then let the car idle for 15mins while the heater is on....no issues at all.
went out logging for an hr or so...did probably 20 pulls....and no issues at all. Then came to a stop and all of the sudden my gauge went to full hot while my log is displaying 190-200F. Now I am leaning more toward an air pocket that didn't get to purge yet. Will do that tomorrow, and report back.

here is a pic of the sensor incase anyone needs it;

Sorry it's been a while that I haven't posted. I replaced that part. I took it to the shop it's called boosted inc. (http://www.boostincorporated.com/subaru/) it was at at the shop for about a month. They checked everything. Test drove my car, plugged in to the AEM. The gauge starts creeping up to high but when you see the graph on the AEM it shows normal. They think it would be the cluster that's doing it, maybe the wiring or grounding. What do you guys think?

are you running a mini or full radiator?
Ground is def needed for all the electricals in your car.

It's a full radiator. They grounded everything in my car.

when the cluster shows it over heating and they it normal in evoscan, what are they reading in evoscan?

Could the thermostat ever be installed wrong?

The cluster is over heating, but when I see it in my aem pro log it reads normal. I replaced the thermostat and I installed it correctly.

Mishimoto thermostat

Do not use the Mishimoto Thermostat, it's made in China and not up to the same standard as the stock. I ran this on the track and it failed after 4 sessions.

The metal on the bottom busted.

I currently have the exact same problem. Went with a better fan and it seemed to cure it for a while but now its back with a vengeance. Replacing sensor today. The temp needle on the gauge cluster wildly over reacts. At 212 it over 3/4's hot on the gauge.

The maker intends for the gauge to wildly over react.

What kind of fan should I order? My turbo kit came with the fan.

Justin @ Forcefed suggested I get a SPAL (Flexalite) 123 is what I used. It dropped my temps down below 200 and after wiring it up to run off switched power its stays under 180 unless its a really hot day and I run AC. I replaced the sensor and sending unit and itsno longer freaking out when the temps climb a bit. But then my car hasn't seen over 207 since we wired the fan's to run all the time.

To be fair the device I was using to monitor temps has been a little flakey as well so while I;m sure the car is running cool it will be a few weeks before my evo droid is here so I can take more accurate reliable readings.

Mine stays under 200. The cluster goes all the way to High. I can't figure it out, I replaced the thermostat and the sensors.
