Evo 8 strange rotating metal noise - help

Hello,

I have an 05 Evo 8. It's begun to make a strange noise and I was wondering if you could do your best to help me diagnose the issue.

The best I can describe this noise coming from the front drivers side of the motor/ trans is a as if a metal ball is rolling or swirling around in a red solo cup while driving.
It does this at idol (sometimes) BUT mostly when I'm driving as my rpms hit 2500 in every gear. Other than that after 2500 rpms it goes away.

When I am able to catch this noise at idol (it's not that loud but loud enough to annoy me) if I throw the car in gear it goes away. But as i creep forward, throw it in second and give it gas the whirling rotating metal noise appears right around the 2509 rpm range.

There is no knocking noise at start up
It doesn't sound like knock or rod bearing as the car is relatively quiet at idol and the only time i am able to notice the noise as I described above more of a whirling metal sound at idol is when I'm inside the car in the driver seat.

Could this possibly be a bad bearing(s) in the trans?

Before I go ripping apart the car any advise is greatly appreciated. It's driving me insane.

Idle*****

While sitting at idle, does the noise continue or stop when you depress the clutch pedal?

No noise is still there but If I press the clutch in and throw it into gear the noise goes away. I've been reading and some say it could be the input shaft bearing ?

If it was a spun rod I'm pretty sure I would have sent it through the block by now, it's been about 2 months of driving with the occasional beating

Since the sound can be manipulated through transmission input, the sound is most likely coming from the trans.. It sounds RPM dependant also. Have you checked the fluid level recently ? Or have had it changed to check for shavings? A video of you replicating the noise would definitely help at this point.
