Big problems after turbo install. Help please!

Hello all,
I recently installed an Evo 9 turbo on a buddies car. After we got everything cinched up the car turned right over. We shut it off after 3 minutes or so to inspect and ensure all was good with no leaks. After the inspection, I tried to turn the car over and it coughed and would not fire. It progressively got worse and now the car just cranks really fast as if there's no compression and wont attempt to do anything. Its getting fuel to the rail but the fuel pump doesn't sound like its priming on "key on." Also, the cam position sensor is broken and i swapped it out with the one from my car and it still does the same thing. I am going to do a compression test and check for spark later today but any insight ahead of time would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Rschanaman

sounds like something isnt plugged in. 02 clip plugged in? cam sensor plugged in? check anything that you unplugged.

If the car was running before the installation and it doesnt run after the istall, you messed up something. I know you already checked but check again and be thorough. The only things you need to remove for a turbo install are downpipe, manifold. o2 sensor & housing, maf pipe, water and oil lines, radiator & fan(makes it easier). If you're still on maf, is it plugged in cause ive seen people forget to plug it in.

Now chances are that the turbo might be plugged on the turbine, thats why it might be giving you those symptoms.

I did the compression test and it all checked out. 180, 175, 167, 168. I checked for spark which is the problem. I've checked all the fuses and nothing is blown. I'm going to get a voltmeter when I get some more time and dig a little deeper.

does it crank over very easily? is that what you mean when you said with no compression? I would check you timing belt and balance shaft belt. my evo cranked over very easily, with no compression as you said, and it turned out to be my balance shaft belt had busted on me. poor timing for that to have happen!

Well it would of been better if it was 180-175-176-175 not too far apart.

It cranks over super easy. Even with only 10v available. I'll check the balance shaft belts.

I you only have a 10v battery charge it or swap it out. If you only have 10v the car is not going to work properly.

I would say everything is plugged in if he said that he started it after the install and it ran for 3 min. Did you check for boost leaks or maybe your have the lines reversed in some way?

Charging the battery is one of the first things we tried. Reversed boost lines don't keep a car from getting spark. I grounded a plug while the car was being turned over and it didn't light. I'm hoping there's not a short somewhere...

if you removed exhaust manifold you had to remove primary O2 sensor as well.are you sure you didn't damage sensor?

How are you checking for spark?

Leave a rag in the intake or exhaust?

Check fuse no. 1 under the driver side dash? Should be 15 amp.
