Question Passenger door key lock function question

Can someone confirm how the passenger door key lock on an Evo 8 is supposed to function? I recently had body work on the door, and I could swear that the passenger lock functioned identically to the driver lock: turn the key forward or back twice and it would lock/unlock all doors. Mine's not doing that: is this normal, or did something not get reconnected properly?

Thanks,

Lacoste

As far as I know none of them have a key cylinder switch on the passenger side or an actuator position switch on the passenger side. Wiring schematics confirm that, if they are accurate.
I only have two RS's near me to actually check though :P

Question Related: Driver door lock button gummed up

Thanks guys. I guess I imagined it

On a (somewhat) related note, the driver door lock doesn't open when I use the power lock function (internal power lock button, or remote). This actually prevents the remote from working if the drivers door is locked. It appears that the actual physical lock on the driver door (by inner handle) is kind of gummed up, but I suppose it could be a short as well. Anyone know of a solution to this? I can manually operate the lock, but it interferes with using the remote or even the power lock button on the passenger door. Should I just take the door apart and WD40 everything? Or is this a known issue that has a simpler solution?

If you are going to spray anything in there to get it to move freely, I would either use triflow or dry silicone. As for it being a short, you could always pull the door panel off and see if it is binding up anywhere or just not functioning.

I've never had a problem with my Evo but I've encountered situations on other cars where the grease applied at the factory, over time, got so stiff it even prevented the key from working. So, yeah, something with solvent like WD40 could be the fix.

Need help with the same issue.

ever fixed the problem? Recently paired a remote. Everything was fine and dandy then it suddenly started acting up.

Driver side only works manually, and the passenger/s would work only if the driver side is unlocked; using inside switch or keyfob .
