Smoking after oil change

Hi All,

I just changed my oil, engine, transmission, and transfer case. After I finished, I test drove it and everything seems normal. Today, when I drove to work, I started smelling guess. I also started seeing smoke from my engine so I pulled over. I did not see any light go on. Can someone what's going on?

Thanks.

chances are oil dripped on some hot-parts and the smoke is from it heating up.

Yeah you probably spilled some fluids on hot parts.... just double check everything is nice and tight. check the pavement for any leaks after letting the car sit over night.

I'll echo what others said, you are probably fine. Just drive it a little more and it should go away. Keep an eye on your gauges just in case

The tcase fluid is whats burning because its located right over the exhaust pipe and its in a tight spot so when refilling it take some effort to get the new fluid in and you will end up spilling and that what happen to you, also you might not have sprayed degreaser and rinse off the area so once you went home and park the car the residue dripped and settled on your exhaust pipe causing it to smoke. You should be fine just rinse off the spill oil next time.very thick and
