Yes +1 ^. I averaged 300-330 a tank on 91 pump gas, and ~250 miles on e85 when cruising like a granny (last tank got 268.3 miles!).

You have got to be kidding me.... If you took your charge pipe off and somehow got the car to run you would blow your turbo into a million pieces. Lil guy would be working at max trying to make waste gate pressure.

You don't know how a turbo and engine work together, do you?

Gas light usually comes on around 260 miles for me, have stretched to like 310 when all highway. I am at 115k and 400whp and going back and forth to work I average 22mpg on original coils and wires. Pretty impressed. Gas mileage hasn’t dropped off at all since I bought the car in Jan of 2005 even with the mods and high mileage.

Without any compressor load from the system being open, I could see the turbine overspinning.

Any particular reason why you are a d1ck?

Go ahead then Einstein you explain to me then the two choices air flow has when it exits the exhaust mani. Wait ill do it for you.

1. through the turbo making what experts are calling "boost".

2. Out the waste gate. It's nice of this fellow to stay shut while we spool but a certain positive pressure we ask him to open so we can control boost by diverting extra exhaust.

So if you don't open your waste gate using positive vac pressure or "boost" all the ****ing air goes through the turbo. Over spooling it. Which could be quite fun but your decided to take the charge pipe off SO YOU GET NONE.

Taking your charge pipe off is like taking the line to your wga off except one way the extra boost is going into the TB And disconnected its just. VTA

Now close this thread it's making me angry

To get better mpg hook up nitrous to your compressor and that should take the load off the engine thus decreasing the load by increasing the gas btu power export in the chamver and make the turbine wheel spin cooler air due to the nitroglycerin

Too bad you left out the fact that the air that the turbo's compressor side compresses goes through the engine and then back through the turbo's turbine side. If you don't have the AIR that it is pumping going into the engine, there won't be that AIR to spin the turbine faster. It won't be spinning anywhere near overspeed conditions. Once again, you clearly don't have the slightest clue. Read a book.
