And yea it sucks when problems happen with cars you bought but in like all states but 2 its considered buyer beware. Lemon law only refers to dealers and dealerships period not private party. And I dont screw people over on purpose and out of lets say 20 cars I sell a year and out of 3 years I have been taken to court twice. Sold a ton of upper scale cars to include a E55 AMG, 300C, GT's you name it a lot of cool cars come through auctions man.

But besides the point. Your story has nothing to due with him yes you held a dealership accountable and you won. Thats all.

Sorry if I come off like a dick but your giving him hope where there is none. I get your trying to nice but its not going to help the OP to give him hope about something changing in his crappy purchase. He is completely 100% SOL. It is buyer beware. Long story short for that rule is its the buyers problem to get the car checked out and reviewed before purchase is made. Once cash hits hands the car could literally catch fire from the heavens burn and die and it would be the buyers problem period.
You don't mean to come off like a dick but, yea I know you sell cars & only got sued a handful of times, your lucky you sound like a real winner.

Mine was just an example, don't tell me the op is sol.

Ill bet since he didnt talk to a lawyer, that's his only option.

You think he's the 1st poor person to get jerked.

For 26 large is not a little bit of money.
Sine your a car dealer, I don't really believe your credibility selling used cars is a dirty business.

My friend has a license to buy from actions.
I know quite a bit about used cars, I've watched him pass on cars that looked amazing.
Except he knew one of the auctioneers, he had a signal if the car was ng.
He'd throw the guy a few hundred every so often .

Plus I have been in a similar situation, on a new car once I lemon lawed it right up the dealers ****, so excuse me if I seem to not care about your opinion, I know your wrong.
Unless your a lawyer, please spare me.

He needs to go after that's person, with a real case not a bs phone call.

File a case in Supreme Court most likely, the guy has assets if he sold you a car for 26k.

Op if you need any guidance I'd be GLAD to help you out.

Btw, I handled all claims & liability for a arts & antiques company.

I was the buffer between the insurance company, people tying to sue & defending damage claims with litigation attorney.

Never ever lost a case. Including a $50,000 claim against ups for damages.

Long story we won, I have seen these things dealt with, if you know what you doing.

lol throw a fit? so your telling me that he a "mechanic" couldn't have checked it? the guy then said he saw me "street racing" so if he didn't know why would he come back with a false accusation?

i asked him if the clutch was good, when i drove it, it felt fine but the mechanic i took it to stated that i couldn't not have damaged it, and that the previous owner most likely launched it the night before the sell.

you drive 6 hours to pick up a car that i asked him to make sure would get me back home, then get stuck in a REALLY bad place in Los Angeles..

he would have been liable for the loss and i had all the proof in text messages, that of course were deleted when my phone fell out of my pocket.

had to pay 1700 for an OEM clutch bc i had work, in two days.. left the car in LA for 3 weeks then drove down again.

A turbo dying 28k after you bought it may not have been the seller being a d-bag. Quite a bit of miles to put on a questionable turbo

I would pissed if I were in your situation... But to you really think that the guy knew the rod was gonna give out on you? Like the guy knew the motor was gonna let go so he sold it? I mean. Oil leaks, smoking , things like that I can see because the seller probably knew about that. But motor letting go know one can tell.

If I was the guy who sold you the car I would of given you 3 thousand back to fix it. He should be somewhat responsible. I would keep doing all you can to get your money because its still not right.

Car is going to Force Fed Performance in NC hopefully next week. Just going to be out the cash I guess. Going back to the 4g63 block with forged internals and a 100mm crank.

I invite you all to come check out my build thread. I have more planned for the car than just the new motor. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...r-project.html

I am not out just 3-5k.

I am not going to build a ****ty motor, I am not doing the work myself.

You are looking at 20+ hours of labor. Wiseco HD pistons, billet crank, manley rods. new block bearings.

I paid to fly out there, paid for the hotel, paid for the car, paid for the gas, paid for a tow 5 hours away from where I live. Now I have to pay to get it hauled 5 hours away to a shop.

Its the fact that I spent 26k on a car looking about 10k to get it fixed back to making power it was making.

Im in a similar boat. But ive been waiting over a month to get mine "fixed". It sucks spending over 20k to have a nice *** car you cant drive. Then on top of it spending more money to fix the car you were told is a fast reliable daily driver. I really wish I bought a 1g dsm built a crazy motor with a huge turbo and shep trans and still had plenty of money for hookers and coke.
