Moving to Arizona
Hello my Evo Family, I have just excepted a job in Tempe, Arizona, but live in Pa now...So i was just wondering if there was anything i need to do to prepare my 06 evo 9 for this smoldering Arizona heat

To OP.
I would just make sure that everything is topped off and your cooling system is in good working order.
TINT TINT TINT! It does wonders out there. Had all of my cars tinted right away when I lived down there. Get a windshield visor too. Also, like the others said..just do your regular maintenance.

I don't know if still have time to work on your car. But I did install this to my evo. it was good enough for the summer heat and tranny heat from autox, should be good in any condition.

Congrats on the planned move.
Speaking from 7 years of EVO DD ownership in Arizona, I urge the following:
1. Replace radiator cap every year. Pretty cheap insurance; I've had them fail after only one year of use.
2. Replace the battery every other year. Very high number of battery failures in every kind of car we have owned in Arizona. (OK, well, except the Prius.) A little bit more expensive than #1, but still cheap insurance.
3. Always park in the shade.
4. Always keep good wax on the paint.
5. Put good metallic reflective window film, not just cheap 'tint', on all windows, including the stripe across the top of the windshield.
6. At 60K miles (or sooner, or by age) change all 8 coolant hoses.
7. I also suggest a good (I have a Mishimoto) aluminum radiator.
8. And, get tuned for the best hot-weather fuel - E85!!!
Enjoy...

Welcome to the Wild West my friend! what city in AZ are you moving too?!
AZ Maintenance is pretty straight forward. Just make sure you all your cooling properties are in check, coolant, a good radiator, hoses, etc. Keep an eye on your battery, the summer heat will eat them up. I get mine tested every 6 months just to be safe. Get your windows tinted and use a sun visor when you park (you'll thank me later). Always park in the shade if you can. Have clear coat put on any carbon fiber parts you have on the car (stock wing, lip, vortex generator, etc.). Definitely join AZAWD.org
Other than that maybe invest in a bigger intercooler, not necessary but it does help. Also AZ a very dusty state, to cope with this I personally like the Perrin foam air filter. Idk about anyone else in AZ but I feel it blocks more dirt and dust particles than the conventional cone style filter. Last but not least...GET YOUR EVO TUNED FOR E85, you'll love the extra power. I recommend Wingz Performance (www.wingzperformance.com). Anyways best of luck on the move
make sure to roll out to a meet some time. The Pavillions Car Show happens every saturday night in Scottsdale on Indian Bend just off the 101 freeway. Come check it out and say whats up
