engine mount questions:

i recently began to have some vibration between 2500-2800RPM. it began suddenly and out of nowhere. everything else is fine, so my first thought was an engine mount. the car has about 118k on it.

i took a look at the mounts and they "look" fine. did i read correctly that they should have no movement while revving the engine, etc? i can rev the car from the TB and see some movement in the passenger mount bushing. does this mean it's bad? i didn't bother to look at the others until i know if i'm wasting my time LOL. i see no obvious damage to any of the mount inserts.

thanks in advance, guys.

Stock motor mounts are rubber and you would notice some movement when reving. Now if it's acting like it wants to jump out of the engine bay, then you might want to look into some mounts. You could always just get some stiff motor mounts, then you would know why it's vibrating lol.

Check the downpipe and see if you notice any rubbing marks. Depending on the DP you have, there might be some clearance issues.

Get a big prybar on the suspect engine mount and apply pressure. Find a friend or homeless guy to rev the engine to the trouble RPM area and see if the vibration changes while pressure is applied. This should help rule out the motor mount as the culprit.

Is the vibration evident when parked AND driving? Only when driving? Only when parked?
