fitment issues

jus installed the jdm rear bumper on my evo 8 and everything fit good except this little snag..

anyone else have this issue? how'd u fix it?

Loosen the trunk mounts & adjust the gaps as necessary

how do u do that? the trunk fit fine when the usdm bumper was on.. so makes me think its the bumper

Im sure you are correct, it is the bumper. But if you cant adjust the bumper, loosen the 4 bolts holding the trunk arms to the lid & move it until you achieve the right lines & then tighten

Just a thought

yea but then wouldnt there be un even gaps between the trunk and quarter panel?

If your talking about the gap between the trunck and bumper, that perfectly normal. Put your tail light back on an if you have a gap between the lights and side panel then ya the bumper is off but if everything lines up fine and it's just the trunck gap then your good to go. All 8,9 have that little trunk gap

Question though, just looking at your pics and why did you remove your key assembly on the trunck?? That's not necessary to swap bumpers.

im talking bout the gap between the lower left trunk n bumper and lower right trunk n bumper.. its not even and its buggin the **** outta me!

i want to get rid of the key hole n the trunk so i plan on getting that filled n painted!

Also, Pull the bumper cover off. Look where the cover indexes into the mounting points. Maybe you can make some adjustments at the mount locations to even out the gaps
