help rear caliper bolt striped

Hey guys/girls i need help i recently had work done to my car long story short when i was taking off my calipers and rotors to put in my new extended wheel studs i started this at the back of the car the rear caliper bolt felt like it was air gun tight it was hard to get off i knew something was messed up bc the bolt didn't get looser when i was backing it out but when i got it out i saw that it was striped like a dirty hoe my poor caliper looks like its a lil striped too

1. Whats the rear caliper bolt size & thread pitch? Is it metric or standard?
2. How do i fix my caliper im guessing the only way is a tap and die set but not sure what tap size and die size to get?

not sure about the size but a helicoil kit should do it.

Not to knock the idea, but a much better option in this case based on the size (torque load/clamp load) is a time-sert kit

This exact same problem happened to my buddy so we asked our fabrication guys and this is the kit we used and its pretty serious.

This is just an example, you can get them cheaper.

Most of the times, The threads on the bolt are weaker than the part.
You can try running a tap through the caliper first, it may clean it up just fine.

I believe they are M12x1.75x60, however I would call the dealer and double check as well if you need new bolt. I would think you should be able to clean the threads up a little bit, but depends on how bad they are, any pictures?

I would do a Self tapping Threaded insert with threadlocker on it
helicoil are good, but i would not trust them for a high torque application or Place of vibration.
