How to remove fog light cap from JDM headlights?

Hey guys, I just picked up a brand new set of jdm 8 MR headlights. When I went to install the 9006 fog bulbs, I noticed that there's a cap in it. The headlamp is designed to accept a bulb, however, it doesnt slide all the way through.

Has anyone seen/done this before? There has to be some simple way of doing this, maybe I'm just overcomplicating this. Thanks for any feedback!

buy the correct bulbs that fit the headlamps. that cap is there for a reason; to reflect light back into the reflector bowl

I assumed the same, but I in fact do have the correct bulb (9006 vs H11). I do believe the cap needs to be removed, its a question of how. When compared to our USDM fog lights, that cap is not there, as you are able to see the tip of the bulb through the front of the housing.

yes, these are design differences between the two. the cap is supposed to be there on the JDM lights. do you have HID fog lights? or halogens

Interesting. Well I picked up a set of Nokya yellow fog bulbs, just like I had in my OEM's. I have regular halogen fog's (stock). You may be right because the bulb just needs another MM maybe so I can lock it in place.

Do you have a set of these jdm headlights as well? Can others who have these chime in if you have it as well?

I have 9006 HID fogs on my JDM headlights and they fit fine.

I removed that glare shield from my previous set of JDM heads, and the fog lights were A LOT brighter without the glare shield

as for removing the glare shield, you are going to have to bake your headlight open

OK thank you both for the replies. I found someone local with a set so I will compare and see what can be done. Utlimately, I want to use the Nokya bulbs I purchased, so one way or another I will make them fit
