Evolution IV parts compatibility, advice, and suggestions?

I recently acquired an evolution IV.... beautiful vehicle with a timeless design. The vehicle has been sitting for quite some time (6-8 years?) I'm planning to take it somewhere and get the maintenance situated. When it first started it had a rough idle and would not turn on til the 2nd attempt. Few days later it would crank faster with no second attempt, and fired up. Idle was at a steady 1k fluctuating.
Now she turns on right away and has a nice idle under 1k. She was maintained very well by the previous owner and has been garage kept. Sorta like a time capsule barn find for our generation I guess?

The question is this, who can I take her to in NY NJ for quality work that will guarantee and stand behind there craft? I'm in no way trying to build a race car just something very comfortable for a Sunday drive with the kid and wife.

So far it sounds like it needs a power steering pump? Is there a compatible OEM part? Is there an upgraded version? What else is compatible? I probably don't need but I want to get belts, hoses, gaskets, and pumps done. It's a 97 evolution IV are there any US models That may have compatible parts? The parts will only be OEM or better.

Thanks for any insight!

Someone else will chime in on here about where you can get the parts, but when I owned my Evo IV back in the days, I found that most evo 8 parts are interchangeable.

Much appreciated CeeWhizzle, I just really want this thing on the road where it belongs, but at the same time reliable and being able to drive anywhere with no hesitation is crucial to me I hate for it to break down with the baby on board. Does anyone know if there are rebuild kits?

Japperformance parts was my place to go for my evo IV. Try out the LancerRegister forum and theres a great marketplace on there too. I bought most of my parts from the UK.

First mod would be evo 8 ecu conversion

Evo 4 are known for having a weaker short block. The transfer is also different. Other than that its mostly the same.

Yes, Evo 8 parts fit in your Evo IV.

All the parts that I have in my Evo 4 are from Evo 8 USDM...

Right now I use a 4g64 short block and works fine!

Cams, cam gears, pistons, sensor, etc... all fit perfect! Dont worry!
