Does shifting into 5th gear in the 1/4 hurt your mph?
I was talking about this awhile back. Does shifting into 5th gear in the 1/4 hurt your mph? I thought it did and others on this site thought it didnt. Know one had solid proof what one is correct. I 100% proved that it DOES increase your MPH 100% saying into 4th gear.
My old setup same power same boost even same weather give or take nothing changed but a Shep Tran's with 4.11's. Before i would run 11.0-11.2 @ 131.0-133.6 mph all day. Yesterday i did 6-8 passes drove it too the track and back. "Fastest street car there mph wise by a land slide last night."
I was running 11.0-11.2 @ 135.5-137.3 mph. So the 4.11's will give you about 4-5 mph extra in the 1/4 IF you shifting into 5th at the 600whp range.
So yes shifting into 5th wrecks you mph wise, no if and's or buts in my mind. PS: the 60 ft's were even the same AND i was surpized to see the 1/8 mph stayed the EXACT same! i did think that was going to be lower but that even stayed the same!
