It may not seem that bad to you guys, but to the OP it is probably a different story. You gotta remember that it was once his pride and joy.

A little too much joy and not enough pride in their ride.

OK... my too sense. (yes that was done for comedy in the thread)

First of all, I know it was your "baby". but if it was your "baby" then why did you sell it? Answer, because you moved on. Sure it sucks that the new owner is a D-bag, but he had the cash to buy it, and it's his baby now. If he wants to raise that baby to be president of the US, it's his perogitive. Same as if he wants to raise it to be a trailer park hooker. It's his to do with as he pleases.

Also, we are talking about a CAR here... sure I love my cars, but there are FAR more important things in life to worry about a car that was once yours. I may have grown up in the past 10 years, as I was once a fanatic who obsessed over every little flaw with my car.

When my 2 year old sitting in her recaro child seat spilled her drink all over herself and started to cry, and I was more upset about HER being upset, than the sticky juice all over my alcantara SE rear seats. I came to the realization that the car had far less meaning to me than the IMPORTANT things in life.

^ You would still clean up that spilt milk though right? This guy's kid spilled milk, left it to curdle and then tried to clean it with bleach and wool pad.

It was juice... and I eventually cleaned it up. my cars are a pretty low priority in my life. I still enjoy them, but laugh when I see people obsess about their cars. There are so many things more important.

It's not your car anymore... it's someone elses. let them drive it into a wall if they want, it's just a car, not an irreplaceable work of art.

Eh, I tend to disagree. Not trying to start an argument or anything, but some people take pride in their cars. Like me for instance. It makes me happy, keeps me occupied, has given me the oppurtunity to meet great people, etc etc. If something happened to my car tomorrow, I would be heartbroken. Plus, the more "rare" the cleaner Evo's become, the more people hold on and take pride in theirs. Could my car be replaced if something happened? Of course. But I would never in a million years find another one like it, in the condition it's in. Which makes me take pride in it more.

I think what he meant is for some of us their car (while still being a hobby and fun) is the secondary or tertiary to things they consider more important. This doesn't mean we have any less pride in the car.....just means you view some of this stuff as not important enough to give any thought to it.

I'm def. sick to my stomach the amount of money I've poured into both my Evo's and having a new house there are a ton of other things I'd like to do with my money but I also would like a running car so I've done what was needed to achieve that.

I will not do this again. I have so many other things I'd like to do with that cash.

theres like no difference before and after. aside from being a "little" dirty
why do u even care how the car looks afterwards? you sold it.
u dont know the story, he prolly bought the car, sold the excess parts for money and is happy with it being a daily. its "HIS" car now, who cares what he does.
at least for the most part he IS driving the car unlike other garage queens in the forum.
to some people a car is not on a pedestal

I said it before, but re-reading the thread I'll say again that I just don't get it. There's a homeboy sticker of some sort, back to stock intercooler, and paint chips on the bumper. The sticker peels off, the intercooler is stock (or appears that way).... so the paint chip probably from hitting a parking curb or something is such a terrible thing?
Man if you guys saw how many stone chips are on my daily driver hood I'd probably be banished.

Why do you need to hear from me? I am almost 30, why do you care? I am sorry i have a life and was not here to answer to your beck and call. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you since it seems like it bothered you so much.

Car was definitely crashed either fender bender or curbed like i said which is why the bumper is all chipped, and cracked up and there is a stock FMIC back on the car. Probably wasent tuned after that.
He wasent return it to stock i can bet on that. OEM wheels are on it cuz i kept my nice wheels. \
Carbon hood, trunk and lights all faded. Yes that stuff can and will fade. but i know plenty of Evos kept out doors and people still at least take the time to clean and wax them to keep them looking nice.

I actually took the sticker off the skirt before i sold it to him.
What really concerns me is why there is a burn in the pass side of the hood vent, not sure how that would get there.

I dont know why your all crawling up my back side. Dont you people have pride in owning an evo? Dont you want to see nice examples of the car driving around then ones that are miss treated. I guess i am the only one around here that have Pride in Evos and dont like seeing any of them neglected. I am sorry all you dont feel the same way about how a nice car that you like being kept clean and hoping that other keep good examples of the car. I think ragged exteriors like this just bring down all evos. Like ricer beat up hondas give all hondas a bad name. I would rather not see neglected Evos driving around giving all Evos a bad rap. The wing already gives alot of people the "ricer" ideal of the car and one neglected makes it worse IMO.

Sure he might not of been able to prevent an accident, or was the cause, who knows. But taking a car to a car show and then showing it in that condition... really... Spending $20,000 and then letting the car turn into that just seems crazy to me. Not that cars are good investments, just with some effort in keeping it nice would help it hold some value. I spend that kind of money on something, i am going to try and keep it nice.
