Kids.... Sigh

Let me start off by saying i half way expected this to happen.
I sold my Yellow "Rotten Banana" Evo 8 to some 18 year old kid 5 months ago. I just saw it a car meet and boy is it in sad shape now....

right before i sold it.

7 months later, it looks like this

Car probably needs to be put out to pasture and put out its misery now...
Poor Evo.
The hood is all sorts of faded (Not in my original picture, that is just sun glare off the hood cuz of how shiny it was)
Headlights are faded out
He probably ditched it looking at the huge chips out of the lower part of the bumper and the FMIC is back to OEM now.
Rear CF trunk was in just as bad shape as the hood.
Same with the OEM wing.

I bought my 1st and only evo when I was 18 and I could never do anything like that to it. I just couldn't spend that much money and then beat the crap out of it.

Something happened to the front bumper, maybe a front end hit hence the factory IC back on the car**** happens

Headlights are oxidized not even badly, 30 min fix

He took a stupid sticker off the side skirt to put a more stupid sticker in the front window. Ok

Maybe be has no garage Carbon Fiber panels fade in the sun period. I don't care how much you keep it protected, which he may have never though lol

Besides that looks the same to me

sigh...

While I respect the "to each their own" attitude, it is unfortunate that the price on the Evos is coming down to be attainable with some sacrifice for the people that would normally be driving something much cheaper to own.

All we can do is try to be a better community here, to help the new users that are maybe a bit beyond their means (that isn't a diss, we've all been there) help to get through, and realize what a gem these cars are.

well, the way I see it, this could also be for the better for the ones who do take care of their evos, seeing as how there are talks of the EVO brand being discontinued, for every one that's getting run into the ground, blown up and trashed, it should only make the value of the ones still around go up...but we will see

I agree.
Aside the additional fact it does look like it's been rather neglected, cleaning wise.
Which is just a shame that catches up to one who doesn't decide to upkeep such a thing anyways, but then again, what do expect when an 18 year old buys your evo?

Dumb question - How does the car still have the same license plate number even thou it changed hands? Is that Washington state thing - You can transfer the plates in the transaction?

Didn't even notice the plate numbers at first. Learn something new everyday.
