oil dip stick keeps popping off..

oil dip stick keeps popping off..

i have recently build a 2.1l engine, and the dip stick keeps popping off at 25-30 psi spilling all the oil on the intake manifold and the down pipe, what cud be the reason?

and how do i solve this problem?

This is a bandaid fix, but here you go:

I have since (and when my head comes off next week, will continue to) added crankcase venting to relieve the real issue. The Good 'ol spring has stayed, though. It's a good insurance measure.

Yeah you need to relieve crankcase pressure first as others have stated.

No, and they're not oil pressure issues, it's compression from the combustion chamber sneaking past the piston rings into the oil pan area.

I hope non synthetic was used during break in , sounds like maybe the rings didn't seat properly and now your having blow by issues. Who built this engine?

Exactly what I was thinking... What was the break in procedure? What is the mileage on the motor. I hope you didn't jump right into 20+ psi straight after your build.

Excess crankcase pressure. Revise your PCV setup, and perform a compression test. any oil seeping past crankshaft seals?
