Not too much in the way of news...but he did say that his manager went to Vegas and came to the conclusion that the EVO will be offered in 2 packages..the GS and GSR. The GS being around 28-28.5k with cloth seats no ACD/AYD and without other "cosmetics". The GSR around 32k fully loaded... with leather and ACD/AYD etc. He should know by the end of August/September the complete story as then they will have to start ordering them.

Good question...I guess I should have thought of that when I was on the phone with him. He is a real reputable guy...i've been dealing with him since I bought my 00 Eclipse at the end of 99..he prolly just made a mistake. The other info sounded right on tho. He also did mention that in mo way were they allowed to take pics in Vegas..which really sux ***

 

I hope he is wrong about leather, regardless of whether it's wrapped around a Recaro seat or not. The Evo is a sports car, not a luxury car.

 

Hey think of the bright side. At least with leather seats you won't get zapped when you exit the car. I dont' know about you but everytime i get out of a wrx i key the door jam to prevent the static shock . Recario would be nice. Look like i have to spend the extra 4k for the acd/ayd.

 

No recaros will ever appear stock on US shores, unless on super exotics.

 

Sounds like he's talking about the pic from Automobile magazine, maybe?

The VW GTI 337 has Recaros.

 

Plenty of US cars have had recaros.

My 91 Isuzu Impulse came stock with Recaros. Lots of US cars have had them, not just "super exotics."

 

Heck, even the Isuzu Sportcross comes with Recarcos. From the way it sounds, if their is a hint of truth in this post, is that Mitsu will be bringing over the RS-II and the GSR, both relatively similar but the RS-II forsaking some of the higher priced options.

 

thanks for the update...just one more question...did your dealer mention anything about a sunroof as being part of the fully loaded GSR version?

 

What the HELL is some of your guys obsession about Recaros?!?!?? Jeez ow, every other post is, "will it have Recaros?", "I'm not buying it unless it has Recaros..." etc. For christ sake, I can think of plenty of other things I'd rather have on an Evo or rather not have changed from the previous models than to worry about the damn seats. You guys want lighted windshield nozzles too? Lol, sorry for the cracks, but give it up...and whats the deal with the guy that insists on calling them Recarios?

 

Silver Ghost...no, he didn' mention anything about the sunroof. I personally wouldn't mind a sunroof cuz i use the one on my eclipse alot. Bur I am not going to ***** if it doesnt come with one. If I can get an EVO for under 30k with this now "rumored" 280 hp, I will be sound as a pound baby. The next time I talk to him which now is more often than not, I'll see what he has to say. Dealers will say anything for the $$$, take what he says lightly. In 2 1/2 to 3 months we will have some official information.
