Otherwise, 4g63 motor is right on par if not more powerful as many are 500+whp stock internals and less displacement.

Either way, I don't think that's what he meant by fun factor

N54 is a solid foundation engine.
I was just disputing the claim that euro cars aren't as 'tunable' or 'mod friendly' as Japanese cars.

No one knows the specifics of the new motor that will be in the M3/M4 other than the fact that it will be a I6, twin turbo pushing out over 400hp at the crank stock. My money is on the M3/M4 motor being just as good as a motor to tune/mod as any motor coming out of Japan based on what we have seen with the N54 motors.

All signs point to s55 as the new engine designation, and while perhaps it will be based on the n54, it will be a different motor...similar to how the e36 m52 and s52 are different motors entirely.

On main topic- you won't be done for long. Ill be very surprised if you stop for an entire year. I'm at 750whp on e98 and although I'm done for now I'm already used to the power. It's amazing how slow 560whp on pump feels.

N54 is unreliable trash. You really think a 700 whp 335i is faster than a 500-600 whp Evo and less work? 335i doesn't even have a rear LSD from the factory.

I don't understand how that's impressive at all, or worth trading up to.

A C6 Z06 tuned on E85 with boltons, cams, and other basic upgrades have gotten 670 whp ALL MOTOR on stock internals. And is still 50x more reliable than a 335i/F30 M3 will be.

And weighs less than 3200 lbs. Now imagine if you just supercharge or turbo an LS7 in a Z06.

Hell, CTS-V gets 650 whp/650 wtq with just a pulley, intake, downpipe, exhaust, injectors and E86 tune. You can pick those up for $40k.

Meh, Euro. Been there, done that. The BMW tax sucks.

Bad example. M52 and S52 are the same motor, S52 just has more displacement and more aggressive cams. You can turn an M52 into an S52 pretty easily. Maybe you're thinking of the Euro S50/S52... which is far less reliable than the M52 and S52.

By the time you invest money in an evo vs any other car the evo will still be the fastest for the buck
