Evo practically done... For now

Well shes almost done, I have put every mod possible for my basic goal of 400-450hp, last thing I will be doing is rims, lip, trunk carpet and carbon air ducts

Mods - 272 BC cams, ported manifold, 25g turbo, 3" exhaust, 2.5" intercooler, injen piping and intake, 9 bov, 255 walbro, 1000cc pte injectors, ss housing, stage 2 transfer case shep, soon to install act 6 puck sprung clutch.

Just want to hear some stories of people who completed their car and how they felt once it was the way they wanted it? I dont want to get bored of the car so easily, maybe in 15 year ill sell her to someone else but that depends on the cars value later down the road. Cheap - sell, expensive 17k up show car

I've said I was going to be done many times but its just too addicting. Theres always something to be done. About 3 years ago I was making over 400hp, then got bored because I got used to the pull. Then I had a goal of over 500hp, got bored of the pull, then 600hp, got bored of the pull. Friday this week I'm getting tuned again and should see over 700hp, hopefully I'm done by then, but I doubt it lol.

Aren't you gonna need a bigger intercooler?

I'm at a happy place with my mods as well, 333whp on 93 pump on a mustang dyno. I was pushing 389whp on a much more aggressive tune on pump gas but dialed it back. Its my mostly-daily driver, and have had zero reliability issues.

Go fast mods that matter:
Stock turbo
ETS 3" fmic
ETS IP piping
ETS intake
GSC S2 cams
Walbro 255
AMS TBE
Megan o2

I slapped on a decent suspension, good tires, and can't ask much more of the car. Will probably replace it with the next gen M3.

Always wanted one, and a couple times was this close to trading in the Evo for an e92 M3. The new turbocharged one pretty much made it a no-brainer. Already placed a deposit down at the local bmw dealership.

can't really justifying buy an M3 right now. Nice cars for sure, but doesn't have the "fun" factor that evo's provide i think.

the euro scene is more secluded b/c I think most people tend to not want to mess with european cars as they just aren't as tuner/mod-friendly as japanese cars. reliability is also another issue but that's for another day's discussion =)

M3 are nice cars, but the newier ones are kinda hard to work on and really expensive to modify. Parts are more expensive just because its German

Have you been following the n54 engines BMWs has put out? Both Vargas and Vishnu tuning have put out 700+whp and 600+wtq on stock internals and stockish (meth) fuel systems. No Evo has gotten that much power without upgrading internals.

That's not a fair comparison provided hp/cylinder and or awd/2wd dyno figures.
Otherwise, 4g63 motor is right on par if not more powerful as many are 500+whp stock internals and less displacement.

Either way, I don't think that's what he meant by fun factor

N54 is a solid foundation engine.
