My turbo is shot and I am in need of a turbo, so what turbo do I get? I am running 10:1 compression with mild cam hks 272, 780 injectors, cop & header. My tuner is saying bigger the better on high compression, but I have been reading that on fp black runs better on higher octane. So, with high compression that doesn't make sense to go with bigger turbo. This is my DD so I want the smallest size turbo that can be tuned on pump gas. Oh, I want to use stock frame turbo, just do not want to refabricate my engine compartment.

 

Bigger turbo will spool slower promoting lower cylinder pressures at low rpms where knock is more prone to happen. A larger turbo will also be more efficient at moving cooler air which will aid in knock reduction. 10.0.1 and pump fuel is not the best combination. A larger, more efficient turbo will make the high compressions more livable on pump fuel. regardless 10.0.1 compression is not optimal for pump fuel.
