Long story short, I have an evo 9 turbo, and recently purchased an FP 71hta CHRA, so I swapped the 10.5 hotside from the 9 turbo to the 71hta.

I also have my stock 8 turbo with 9.8 hotside, and was wondering if I can put the 9.8 hotside on the 9 turbo?

Has anyone ever done this? I know you can swap the 10.5 hotside on the 9.8 evo turbo, was just wondering if the 9.8 will work with the 9 turbo. Don't see why it wouldn't--just making sure.



Please don't post or comment that I should just buy a 10.5 hotside..I am trying to make a complete turbo with the parts that I already have.

ot I wanted a 9.8 on my 71, I'd be curious if you tried that to note any gains or losses!

 

I believe faster spool but less power than the 10.5 hotside because of the choking.
