Difference of Evo 8 10.5 hotside vs 9.8?
wondering if anybody had dyno sheets, or knows the exact gain of putting 10.5 hotside on stock evo 8 turo in comparison to the stock 9.8 hotside. Thanks plz help
I can't proof to you that the hotside from a ix turbo is better because I never dynoed before and after, but I can trll you this...I like my ix turbo on my viii a lot better than when I had stock viii turbo
I feel like spool up is a lot better with the ix turbo. I wouldn't just add the hotside I would rather the the whole switch so it can be worth it

Well i already have the 10.5 hotside and taking stuff apart since im doing other. figured might as well through it on there for now. i dont have the extra $400-500 at the moment to purchase a IX turbo. or i would! lol
I do not have any back to back tests as I ran the 9.8 hotside and I really enjoyed the torque on demand. I threw a rod before I could make the 10.5 hotside or even try what the stock IX turbo can do. You are getting is 0.7 additional exhaust flow capacity so that will translate as more potential power once you are tuned. As far as having the ability to run to redline, the stock VIII and stock IX turbos will start to fall over around the 7,200-7,500 RPM range. Outside of that, you are just flowing hot air.
