I just recently bought a 10.5 hotside from a member over here well my question is that, like my 9.8 hotside it has a flapper in it, does a 10.5 hotside suppose to have one too? please check out the pics does it suppose to be like that?

 

Someone welded that one shut! He may have been using an external wastegate.

 

I have a 10.5 hot side being ready to install and It has two flapper in it. That things dosn't look right. It looks like its been welded shut.

 

you will need an external wastegate or you can run like 30+psi of boost if you want

That 10.5 hot side was def used with a EWG and race gas...

 

woops so i will not get to use this hotside then imma just sell it instead, dont want to bother with external wastegate

 

There seems to be some confusion between what you thought you were buying and what you actually bought. If the confusion was on your end, that's ok, chalk it up to experience.

But if they guy selling the 10.5 hotside to you "misrepresented" what he was selling, that's bad, especially if he's on this forum. A welded shut wastegate is something that a seller should mention up front before any deal is done. Is this the case? I'm not for name bashing, but......

 

dayum!! that hotside is BEAT! poor hotside. I think I see compressor scaling on the inside too! Looks like the fin was scratching on it. ::shruggs::

 

nha its just looks like it on the picture, this hotside still looks good with the exception of that it has no flapper. well im debating on putting it on and getting an external wastegate but I will be running a stock turbo for it. well I'll see first though. But if i get some good offers for it I will sell it and get another one.
