I hate to be too optimistic, but the adjuster who looked at the car said first that it's definitely totaled, and second that he's seen situations like this before and was certain that I'd get paid out. They haven't finished doing a current market value on it yet but I was told I should have an offer later. But he's not in charge of claims so we'll see. They will be moving the vehicle to their secure storage (that I can access) back here in the 'Cities at some point, likely next week, and that they would also drop it off at the house from there if that's what it came down to.

I have some ideas for what's next but all of it involves staying in the Evo game. I'd like a IX or a X, leaning toward the X. I have to run some numbers for what I REALLY want but things aren't looking too bad on that front.

If they total it are you going to purchase it back and part it out or just let them have it?

Dunno yet, to be honest. Depends on what they give me, really.

I was turning the wheel all the way until literally feet before the wall, trying to get the car to hit with as much surface area as possible. The fact that it was turned at the time of impact was probably a big factor in that. The other thing to remember is that putting a 3200lb wet and occupied car into a stationary barrier at 80mph is going to exert a LOT of force on things.

Yes, that will do it! My very first event will be on the 27th at thunderhill, lots of run offs but I am still nervous. Glad you are ok and stay within the evo family!
