but that link has been up for a while now...
there's no official word on the REAL lancer... a true EVO w/turbo and real HP... i.g. the Evo VII or VI or even a V....
the only way you can import one currently is if it's a fully caged race ready vehicle...
is there anything more concrete than this out there??

A lot of the stuff I have been seeing points in the direction that we may get something in a few years, but nothing in the near future. I think they will wait and see what happens with the WRX.

Yeah, there's no confirmation of the Evo VII, but at least taking a step up and acknowledging it with a link and that small video clip
I was at an import shwoff event this past weekend and spoke with Sumit Panjabi from the WDCSCCA Region and he mentioned that Mitsubishi has told the SCCA that they want to play a big part in their rally program. With all the positive reponse from the WRX I think they'll definately be thinking about it long and hard.
I have a feeling that Mitsubishi USA would like to bring the Evo over, but there may be cost issues with converting the front bumper just for the US.
Let's try and get as many people as possible to sign the petition so Mitsubishi takes notice.

Petition signed. I would bet Mitsubishi will do the same "testing of the waters" that Subaru did with the 2.5RS before it spends the money redesigning the Evo's front bumper for US crash standards.
But I would think that if Subaru brings the STi over and it sells, that would show that there is definitely a demand for AWD turbos, and Mitsubishi would be stupid not to release the Evo here.

I think Mitsubishi is already realising that there is a market here. Import popularity is huge at the moment and with rallying becoming more and more popular, people will become more knowledgeable about these cars. They may even bring over a less powerful EVO to match the WRX.
