Clutch Engagement noise
Clutch Engagement noise
I was wondering, can anyone else hear their clutch engaging in 1st? I'm running a Comp Stage 3.5 Street/Strip and love it. Grabs hard but doesn't have the pedal feel of a 530lbtq clutch. However, in first gear when I'm letting out, I can hear what sounds like the clutch disk briskly rubbing up against the fly wheel as it starts to engage. Once it's fully engaged or not engaged you can't hear anything. Only when you start letting it out. Like I said it runs and drives fine other than clutch chatter occasionally, but I was curious if anyone else experiences this.

I know this thread is kind of old but I have the exact same clutch with that exact sound. Kind of like rubber sliding across metal really fast. Goes away once fully engaged though. Im assuming thats a normal sound.
Any updates on this? I got a similar problem with an ACT pp and 6-puck sprung disc after 19k miles. Right before the clutch grabs, it makes low pitch howling sound (rubber on metal described above is a good example) that matches the engine revs and then the rotation of the wheels when it grab. Started doing it every time taking off in 1st and sometimes in 2nd. Getting an odd feeling from the clutch pedal while it's doing it too.
