Exclamation Clutch Engagement Very Strange

Hey all,
I recently got a bunch of new clutch parts installed about 3 weeks ago. This is the list:
  • Prolite Flywheel
  • ARP Flywheel Bolts
  • ACT 6 Puck Clutch
  • ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plate
  • ACT Monoloc
  • Evo 9 CMC kit from MAPerformance
  • Redline Fluid Cocktail
  • Torque Solutions underhood bushings

All of these parts have been great up until about 5 or 7 days ago. Now, normally, the clutch starts to engage halfway through the travel of the clutch pedal. However, on some occasions (about 1 out of every 15-20 first gear takeoffs), the clutch likes to start to engage right off the floor. Maybe half an inch or an inch off the floor.

So clearly there is some sort of problem that is causing an inconsistent engagement. Interestingly enough, it seems to happen more often when the car is facing uphill. I first noticed this problem when I was re-positioning the car on my driveway (which faces uphill) and suddenly noticed that the clutch engagement was right off the floor.

But the problem comes and goes, sometimes the clutch engages halfway and sometimes it engages right off the floor. The floor engagement symptoms usually only last a short while (10-20 seconds) before it goes back to normal. I have also noticed that when the clutch engages an inch off the floor, there is also a weird "click" that can be felt in the pedal near the top of the pedal travel.

So I'm not really sure what the problem is. Air in the lines? Clutch pill needs to be removed? My shop thinks the problem can be solved with the clutch pill removal and a rebleed of the system. But I just want to get more thoughts on the issue.

Thanks guys

I would also start with removing the pill and making sure it's bled properly.

Yeah, that's the plan as of now. I didn't see any leaking fluid in the engine bay, so I don't think any drop in fluid pressure is causing the problem. Tomorrow I'm headed to my shop to remove the clutch restrictor pill and vacuum bleed the system again. Hopefully that solves the problem.

try rebleeding the cmc and adjust the clutch pedal

Mine does the same thing on my previous spec clutch and now my CC. I attribute it to the light weight flywheel from what I've read and people have told me, based on their experience. Thinking about doing another clutch job just to go back to OEM flywheel, it bothers me so much.
