Blown axle ! Ok to race?

Just noticed I have a blown axle an the fluid is everywhere all over my rim. Don't know how long its been like this. I have a street racing made safe event to go to tonight to do 20/40/60 rolls but nothing off a dead stop or racing off the line. Think ill be ok?

Not a wise idea. That grease can be a slip hazard for not just you but other cars.

No. In fact, if it's that bad you shouldn't even drive your car until you fix it. But that's just my opinion.

I would not knowingly drive my car with a bad CV. I definitely would not go out racing knowing that I have a bad one. To each their own, but is it seriously that important to you?

Imagine this. Not likely but MECHANICALLY possible. Axle fails at the CV, car is rolling 100mph. The axle is now flopping around in the wheel well, trashing everything in its path ( brake lines, strut, wheel well, etc.). Worst case scenario it will blow right through the floorboard and pay you a visit. IMO, not worth the risk.

He is most likely okay. Heard of people doing worse. But better to be nice to it rather than giving it hell. Don't condone the idea but it most likely was fine.
