EVO IX April Motor Trend*scanned*

"281 horses...There's also talk of an active center differential unique to the U.S., probably mechanical instead of the home market's electronic version, to keep warranty issues at bay."

Likes : The plate in the trunk. Looks cleaner and flows with the tails.

Dislikes : The 04 Lancer headlamps. It makes the front end look like a jack-o-lantern!

Kissed by the ugly fairy on both cheeks. Ugly Evo 8 Bumper with Ugly Ralliart Head Lights.

I thought the whole point of coming out with a new model was improving upon the old one and changing to looks to make it distinct. If it doesn't come with MORE stuff. I.E. a ACD and other goodies then theres no point "evolving" the Evolution line-up.

If this is "the look" of the Evo 9. Then they need to do some design revamps. Same Altezzas, Same Wing, Same Bumper, Same Hood, Lights off a Ralliart, and Same style of rims.

If you look back and compare the Evo 5, Evo 6 and Evo 7, each of them are distinct in design. Whereas this design is clearly a mild adaptation of the Evo 8's with a new head light.

They could have done a better job.

edit: Oh ya, unlike my learned friend who likes the plate in the trunk, I prefer it on the bumper where every other "nice" car has theres located. Just remember fabricating a CF trunk for this car will be alot harder and won't look as good. There's almost no point in debadging it with the plate in the middle of the trunk.

Considering this is an artist's impression, there's nothing to worry about in reference to styling.

This make the current and previous evos even more valuable. THat is so freakin ugly man. No offense, but the ralliart is just ****in ugly. Whatever happened at mitsu, those damn designers better start going back to designing school, bc this is LAME. It supposes to evolve right? What the heck is up with this crap? Why can't they just use the evo6 styling and improve upon it. Screw the new ralliart or lancer platform. Honestly, can't be helped. O well, hopefully some1 there with some common sense bring back the evo6 styling. Peace....

Is this an artist for mitsu or an artist for the mag. It looks to me like they looked at a picture of a ralliart, then drew the wing and front bumper on. I doubt the EVO would share headlights and tailights with the ralliart, plus the wing hood and front bumper of the previous model.
