Anyone Using an 02 Dump

I've searched and searched and can't seem to find an answer. When you install an 02 dump, does it throw a code? I don't want to bother with the hassle of passing emissions every time it comes around.

You shouldn't throw any codes just from an o2 dump. Mine never did.

Yeah mines never threw a code neither. Most people say it's too loud but I love it! I'm considering re routing mines to dump through the hood vent too! =]

You won't hear an increase in noise unless you are under boost.

And you would def care if you drove on the highway with your o2 going ape **** the entire time. Lol

I'll put into perspective how loud it is lol My buddy has a built z28 camaro, extremely loud even at idle. We were on some back country roads and he took off which I then proceeded to go WOT as well. He said he could here the dump over his car and there were open fields all around us LOL. I was also atleast 15 cars behind him lol On the highway you won't notice it at all. In the same you won't either. My dump opens up at about 15psi. That's when it starts screamin like a banshee

Aye, thanks for all the helpful advice! The noise is what I want! AS long as it isn't annoying when you're daily driving it, and I've read a lot that it's really not CRAZY loud until you're well into boost. I'm cammed too, so the car isn't necessarily a sleeper and is already fairly loud under WOT. I realize that this is going to be twice as loud, but man.... do I love the sound of a wastegate dumping out into the atmosphere!! What about fuel mileage? Anyone notice a drop in this? I'm currently bouncing between 22 - 25mpg with 70% highway, 30% city.

People claim to also get significant gains in HP when using an 02 dump. Not exactly sure if they're just blowing smoke up peoples asses... but it seems like it'd free up some restriction.

Do you understand how the dump works? (Not being an ***, just asking)

Absolutely a power adder. It all depends on your setup as to how much or how little but definitely adds some HP.

There is no mpg loss. Essentially what is happened is, the one side of the twin scroll is being dumped to the ground and the other side is going out the exhaust. Someone correct me if I'm wrong (wouldn't be the first time lol) I wanna say the average whp gain is 15-20, it can definitely be more.

It splits the internal wastegate and the exhaust. Or am I mistaken? No pun intended.

I'm new to the forced induction game! I've been a V8 guy for years, but this is my first turbo'd car... so any advice, tips, or anything is appreciated.

Hmmm, that's fairly impressive if that holds up.

Now just like you I plan on getting into an LS based car is the future someday. Nothing beats the off idle torque like a v8. But that will be later down the road. I really think coming from the v8 world you're going to be very impressed with what this engine can do. The numbers in my sig are from my stock block. Stock bottom end thats out of the factory. No rods, pistons, etc upgrades. If that't not impressive for a four cylinder, I don't know what is lol
