Anyone Using an 02 Dump
Yeah, I'm coming from an NA Cobra.. so, it's a night and day difference. This car feels twice as fast once it's in boost, but that Cobra had 4.10 gears, so it was a beast in the low end. I just needed something with four doors and AWD, so I ended up getting an Evo. I've always loved the look of em' and power potential is definitely there. How long have you been at that power level with the factory components?
I'm going to be buying me an 03 - 04 Terminator next year that I plan on doing a twin turbo build with. I'll keep the Evo as my super sonic grocery getter. :P

you wont hear it until boost hits, you wont throw any codes, and you shouldnt need a tune. all your doing is dumping your wasted exhaust gases to the air instead of your exhaust pipe

Torque is what kills our bottom ends, so everyone usually tries to stay right at or below 400tq. It's really all dependant on the tune though. But to answer your question I've be at or over 400tq for...a bout a yr now. Car is actually gettin ready to be stroked out to a 2.3L. Hopin to beat the current FP Black record of 720whp and add a hell of alot more torque then what I have now.

no codes here either, i gained about 25whp.
also in the event you dump through your hood, be mindfull that it IS exhaust gasses, meaning, burnt oil/gas/etc that you ar directing at your winshield and the rest of your car, sure it looks cool as hell and is neat to watch for "flashes at night" but i had it on my car and got rerouted to the ground.
also not to thread jack , but does any one else miss the TURBO sound at full boost vs the dump? i do....

I'm new to the evolutions and the 02 dump, I just learned a little about it. I do have a question though. Is it legal in California? Since we smog, I assumed that it isn't. Please do let me know. Thanks a bunch and I'm very appreciative about answers too. Thanks again.

At idle my car is at 82-84 db. Around town is no different for loudness then normal, only under WOT (or close to it) to get the gate to open
