Opinion Needed

Hi All.

There is a small amount of rust forming near the area where the spoiler connects to the trunk (It may be caused by a rusty bracket inside the base of the spoiler). Rather than fixing the rust I was thinking of getting a wet cf trunk.

Esthetically, would it look weird having a wet cf trunk/oem spoiler but have the oem hood on an 03 ww evo 8? I'd rather not replace the oem hood for a heavier wet cf hood just to make it 'match' with the trunk.

Just wanted to get some opinions and thoughts on this.

Thanks!

Why not just repair the spots? Grind out the rust, seal it and put the wing back on.

this is all personal preference, but if it was me i wouldnt put the oem spoiler on a wet cf.
either go wingless or just clean that rust spot and seal it up good.

Thanks for the input fellas! I'll go to a body shop and ask for a quote for rust repair to factor in what route to take.

Regarding a cf trunk lid however(whether or not it had a spoiler), would it look esthetically odd if the hood wasn't cf as well? I realize this is subjective, but I'd like to hear some thoughts on this.

It would look nice but a lot of ppl buy cheap cf products and then after a year or so it gets faded and look like crap.the way I think is this, either you buy quality piece but it's expensive of course or don't buy at all.when I see evos with faded cf hoods and chicken wires/lids I'm like what you were thinking.

if you are willing and have the money, you can buy a quality cf hood like varis or cwest to match the cf trunk.I have a full cf cwest hood and it weighs significantly less than the stock hood. it weighs about 10lbs.
personally, think a cf trunk would look weird without a cf hood
