Charge Pipe Problem

The PO of my Evo IX "lost" the OEM worm drive hose clamp for the throttle body. He replaced it with a T style clamp. After fixing some other issues on the car, returning it to full boost pressure, the charge pipe blows off. I picked up a Spectre T clamp at the local auto parts store, thinking it was the correct size of 3" turned out it was identical to the same on one the car already. It did come with a rubber ring that was about .25" thick, I figured it would make up the difference in size and make more clamp pressure. Turned out it was made from a relatively soft material that simply compressed when I installed it. It blew off again today, turned out the rubber material just compressed. I ordered a Cajun Power full T clamp kit so hopefully the issue will be resolved with the 2.75" Clamp on the throttle body. Has anyone had any experience with this issue or used the Cajun Power T Clamps?

I have not used the Cajun Power kit. The T bolt clamps in that kit are good. I personally like Turbohoses.com Ive been ordering through them for years for clamps and what not. As far as the coupler I would probably replace those with something better than spectre/autozone brand. Those things are really flimsy.

I love my cajun power t bolt clamp set. Use hairspray around (not in) the throttle body. Then stick it on

(Silverevo05) Did you use the 2.75 clamp on your throttle body or the 3"? The Kit comes with both. I tried the 2.75 but I cant get the clamp around the pipe without taking the tension nut off, and then its almost impossible to get the T clamp tight enough to get the nut back on. I think I could do it with vice grips but that seems excessive. I went back to the 3" T clamp but Its tightened down to the point where the two clasps have made contact. Am I missing something here or is the OEM Charge pipe just at the end of its life.

Simmons, the right size is 2.75 on tb.i know it's hard to put it on but when you done it's so solid that never blow off.i bought that clamp from napa, used a little wd40/engine oil around tb to make it easier.it was helluva job but well worth it.good luck.

Turns out the first time I tried to put the clamp on, I had the 2.5" clamp, not the 2.75. The 2.75 went on easy, and I was able to clamp down the Charge pipe tight.
