electrical issue???

Hey guys,

I've had a couple weird things happen to me this past week. Finally got my AFR in after putting it off for a couple weeks, but afterwards my radio was acting silly. It would not turn on, but when i would hit a bump in the road it would turn on then immediately turn off.

So I took it out and made sure all connections were there. Turns out i forgot to plug the antenna back in. Does the antenna act as a ground or something? Never seen a radio where the antenna had to be plugged in for it to work.

Next problem Im having is with my A/C controls. Now they have stopped working and it is accompanied with an Anti-Lock light.

Ive already checked fuses and connections. Does anyone have any clue what could be going on???

Also, does Evoscan have the capability of pulling ABS codes? If so, I suppose I can see if its related to my A/C problem or if its coincidental.

Thanks for the help

I get the anti lock light too, and I'm unable to get a code for it. Definitely sounds like a grounding issue, look under both side dashes for grounding points, maybe one of them is corroted or something. Maybe go through un bolt the multiple grounding points, and try to scrape of the paint where it is grounded

x2 for some strange ground issue and/or voltage supply issue.

You need to monitor all your battery and engine grounds as well as what is inside the cabin.

The radio issue is solved. Anyone have insight on the hvac controls? Or could that be a grounding issue as well?

If so how would I check it. It has two connections that are attached to the cars wiring harness

Did the bulbs go out? Or does the HVAC not work at all?

The system in its entirety will not turn on. No lights on the buttons, no indications that its working at all. I even had a spare "motherboard" if you will (the green piece inside the white casing that controls everyrhing) that was confirmed working a year ago. I plugged it in yesterday and still a no go, so I think the issue may be with the wires.

I feel like it wouldn't be the only thing not working if it was a wiring harness issue though...

Bad timing for this ish. Its that time of year when I need my defogger working

Yup fuses would be my 1st thing id check, unless a wire is fried, thats the only thing I can think of because I doubt the hvac has a ground all by itself.

From my search I concluded that all the fuses that look like blower with air coming out were attached in some way, and those were all good. Ill check all those again though.

Does anyone know the exact fuse numbers for the engine bay portion? Maybe I missed on in there

Also is there a fuse associated with the anti lock light. Or do I really have an issue?

possibly. wires shifting around when you brake might be knocking around your ground wire if its loose
