Redlinegoods alcantara steering cover
Redlinegoods alcantara steering cover
Ive been thinking of wraping my stock steering wheel with the wraps from Redlinegoods with alcantara and red stitching, ill be doing it myself. My question is what to pick faux alcantara $107 shipped or real alcantara $162 shipped, is it worth the difference ? Anybody have pics of either to see the difference ?
I'm pretty sure alcantara is synthetic. Fake alcantara is probably just an off brand.
Real as in natural material would be swede leather.
I am on board with seeing any pics of the different materials and thoughts on wear/durability. I've been debating on a steering wheel cover from them for several months now.

Currently to my knowledge there is nothing more durable then real alcantara.
Faux alcantara is really just synthetic suede or micro synthetic suede to my understanding.
For something that will take you a long time to do and you will touch continuously.... you want to use the real deal IMO, its not even that much different in pricing.

Alcantara was created in an attempt to make an alternate version of ultrasuede, they began using it in automotive applications because of how durable and stain resistant it is. There are also versions which are flame retardant.
