Stupid Question about higher mileage

I found a immaculate 06 EB problem is it has 186k the car books for 17k I can get it for 10k would you guys recommend getting it and rebuilding the motor and I can still have a immaculate ix. Yes the body would have a lot of miles but engine would be built and everything replaced? Plus I would know everything that's done to it.

That is a lot of miles, you may be looking at extensive repairs. If that doesn't scare you off, you don't mind throwing money at it and you have something else to drive while waiting for parts then there is one other thing I would look at - how much rust on the body?

0 rust. 1 owner. Body has no dings or anything. No bolster wear on the seats either i mean its immaculate. The Brembos are a little faded other then that nothing else is bad beside the miles. I would build the engine so im not too worried about it.

If you're already going in with plans to rebuild the motor, and the body is fine, then I don't see why not.

That is what im thinking plus i would know exactly what and how it has been done versus buying something that i have no clue who touched.

10k for a 06 evo 9. Id say deal! If you plan on doing a new motor anyways, then yea, why not?

There will be some suspension bushings etc that will need replaced too, but I would say you could have a fully running car with replaced susp components and a motor for less than 20k total!

Do a compression and leak down test on it if you don't plan on rebuilding it. Or get a loan for 17k get the car for 10 and then use the 7k to rebuild the engine.

IF you get it for 10k which would be damn amazing if you did. Just build the motor, and some aged parts. Miles mean less then how well it's been taken care of and where and how it's been driving.
