Intermittent crank???

Hey evolution ix, car has a intermittent crank issue.
Sometimes when I goto crank I can only here the fuel pump pumping and no turn over.
Sometimes it works sometimes it don't.
Here is what I have, I tested the ignition switch while it wasn't working its good.
I check the start wire it's fine, I checked the starter with it out if the car that's fine, it does sound like a box of rocks but it works. I'll replace it anyway.
Now I do have a mini battery, voltage reads between 11.8-11.40 but I've seen it start with this voltage, before. Ground is good double cable in the trunk, alternator also puts out perfectly between 13.6-14.4 while running.
Trunk mounted battery but the cables are new and good connections. It's hard to catch, when it does it and not, I've got power at the start wire, but it could be just working when I check it... Err
Tuff to figure out intermittent issues

Any ideas before I got running new wires, replacing starter?
One thing I also did is stop arming the alarm and I have not had a issue since. Could that be to much drain for that little battery? I don't see how it's not a huge drain.

You could try to test for a parasitic draw and that will tell you whether or not the alarm system is pulling too much. Yet, if this was the case and your battery was dead the car wouldn't start at all.

Search the forum here because a number of members have had this issue. One member on here had a strange issue that was occurring behind the ignition switch.

Many members on here have had a problem with corroding wires on the driver side kick panel, next to your left foot when sitting at the driver position. That junction in the harness has caused many good folk a headache or two. Good luck!

Hopefully these will help!
