Please help with fuel choice!
I think you're overthinking this. If you get the car tuned for the type of fuel in your area, it would run just as well. Your tuner will have to adjust timing and fuel to make the car run its best. To be concerned with ethanol content at this point is just dumb because the reality is, it's not going anywhere.

The ethanol is just used to bring the octane level up. I have 1998 evo 5 but with 8 motor. I run e50 pretty much 90% of time. I buy raw ethanol and mix 50/50 with 95. Im still on standard fuel lines but have better fuel pump more suitable for ethanol. About to retune and go e85 but will upgrade all fuel lines. As for ecu I have 2 evo 5 ecus. 1 for 95 and 1 for e50. Many reflashes and no issues. You can run one and have two tunes if you add an extra pin and have it switched for tune swap
