Will muse UICP work with JMF intake?

Hey guys, new to the Evo world as of 3 days ago. I'm already making a list of things to upgrade and parts I want to buy. Coming from a 97 GSX, which I still have, I'm pretty familiar with general mods/maintenance.

The 2003 Evo VIII that I bought came with a decent amount of mods including a JMF race intake manifold. It has an AMS core but the crappiest most thrown together with worm clamps intercooler piping I have ever seen.

After that small novel, my question is, will the short route (already has a relocated battery) Muse intercooler piping work with the JMF intake and AMS intercooler core? I can get a really good deal on a kit right now. Less than have of the price for ETS kits. Thanks in advance.

Wow, nobody is running the Muse upper intercooler piping kit? It appears to be a very high quality setup?

From your thread on DSMTalk it looks like your intake and a Muse UICP should work together. You need to figure out if the UICP will fit with stock IC and if the stock UICP will fit on an AMS core.

Well from all my research, I've read that the AMS core is in the stock location. So in theory the Muse short route should fit there, the only thing that concerns me is the JMF sits lower than the stock IM.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the intake pipe not intake manifold.

No.... the Evo intake manifolds puts the TB in another location. Same way a SMIM does to a dsm. You will need the UICP modified.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll just buy my own piping, cut and have it welded up.

JMF makes a short route UICP specifically for sheet metal intakes because it moves the TB several inches to the drivers side. I've tried both versions of the Muse UICP (aluminum & steel) and they wouldn't work on my Magnus SMIM. I picked up a Nisei UICP for $50 on their closeout sale and will modify it to work.
