Club-CT9W Evo wagon meet up today in tokyo

Could you please do me a favor....
Could you please take pictures of the rear interior. Specifically the way the seats are, the back cargo area, the rear trims, the way the seats meet the sides...
I have an evil plan in mind.

It REALLY looks like 90% of the sheet metal to convert a USDM CT9A to a CT9W is available in the US....
The roof, rear hatch, C and D pillars, glass and tail lights are all the same from a base lancer wagon. The only difference are the quarter panels, the rear winglet, that taillight trim, the beltline trim, and the rear bumper, those should not be cost prohibitive to get from Japan... though shipping will be expensive.
I am just wondering if the interior is the same between the two. Here's a pic of a 04 Lancer wagon rear cargo area:

If so, I could pick up a 2004 wagon for cheap (found a few on autotrader in the $3K range) and do some pretty basic auto body metal work to do the conversion...

cheers guys! it was awesome to finally meet some other evo wagon guys here in tokyo, I also met a guy saturday night at tatsumi PA who had a black one too!
it's always interesting to see how people mod their cars differently, i personally like the clean look, dropped a bit on a nice set of rims. but to each his own i guess, from what i could pick up the rice white one is the quickest of the group and gets tracked a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if the owner has another car for daily duties.
hatesposers here are a couple of pics of the back of the wagon, sorry not the best photos!

guards/fenders, like the evo sedans they have widened the front and rear fenders for the increased wheel track width.
see at the back near the bottom of the lights there're black grill type inserts, they fill in the gap from widening the back, the normal wagon doesn't have this.

Oh yes, I was aware of those. I called them "Light Trim" in my post. In the US, "fenders" are on the front. In the rear, they are called "Quarter panels"
The pictures you put up confirmed quite a bit of what I thought. My biggest concern is the comment that there is a 30mm overhang increase... I am wondering where that comes from. Perhaps it's just the bumper/bumper cover.
The interior trim is MOSTLY the same... It could be made to work. There would have to be strengthening in the roof area, which is easy enough to do. I am betting the A, B, and C pillar reinforcements are the same as used in the MR with the alluminum roof. The D pillar reinforcement would need to be fabricated. As I plan on stitch welding the chassis, the extra spot welds are pretty much a no-brainer...
This really would not be a difficult project. There would need to be so little fabrication involved. If I wanted to be ultra-custom, I could incorporate a sunroof from an SSL model at the same time.... speaking of which, I have one sitting in a closet in florida.....
