Hey guys, first of all I'm new to the evo life, I've had civics my whole life. I just found a Evo 8 with 78,000 miles for 13k bone stock off an old man. I'm starting to put work into it it don't know what. I have a greddy type RS BOV but other then that it's stock. PLEASEEEEE can anybody tell me of an exhaust that is quiet while cruising, but when you step on it , it gets loud, I want a smooth loud. Please help me out.! Thank you.!

 

get a stealth exhaust with resonators and an o2 dump

 

hks hi power would work, i have a tanabe medallion touring exhaust and its really quiet as well, or you can do the above ^^^

 

Just start with finding a bunch of exhausts (I used lancershop but they don't carry all exhaust systems for our car) then just youtube evo "insert exhaust name here" and find one that you like the sound of. I ended up on an hks carbon ti exhaust (basically hi power with carbon wrap on canister but I got a killer deal so o well) because it was nice and tame and had a lower note to it unlike some of the other exhausts that are just too loud and tinny and sound like they should be on a honda with 5 spoilers. And the o2 dump makes the car louder than even my truck and it's an old Chevy 350 with the exhaust cut off below the passenger seat.

 

Look into the MAP exhaust with VAREX mufflers. Otherwise, exhaust noise is all personal preference and most sound nearly the same.

Tanabe Touring Medalion is the BEST exhaust in my opinion. Sounds great when you put your foot into it and is quiet while cruising. I've never gotten a loud exhaust ticket with this one for the past 4 years.
