From: Why do they always call the Evo the Dark Side?
How much money do you guys think a STOCK and UNMOLESTED 2006 Evo 9 with less than 9k original miles should go for? Stats below:
STOCK Blue Evo 9 (8,843 original miles)- Clean title, single owner, no accidents
- You will not find another Evo 9 on this planet that is stock with less than 9k miles
- Car has zero dents, scratches, etc.
- Cleanest Evo you will find, inside and outside and under
- Garage kept for 14 years (never spent a night outside)
Everything under the hood is stock (except for battery)
Exterior Mods:
1) OEM Ralliart carbon fiber front lip (will give you original lip)
2) OEM JDM rear bumper (will give you rear rebar)
3) OEM JDM tail lights
4) After market DAMD underbody diffusers (side and back - perfect match for Ralliart front lip)
5) Made in Japan Work Emotion XT7 rims (18" x 8.5"; offset +25)- you will want to replace the tires not due to mileage but due to time
6) After market HID headlights
7) Tinted windows (except windshield)
Electronics Mods:
1) Orbital Prestige conversion to double din (will give you original single din panel)
2) Panasonic touch screen GPS (may be obsolete now but given the double din, you can easily install a new one, all wires are there); will give you original radio/CD player but I doubt you'll want it
3) Alarm system
Other Mods:
1) Antenna (will give you original)
2) Shift knob (will give you original)

Hopefully there is no ghosting underneath the stickers

That thing is clean as hell, but not quite "unmolested." Still, bonus points for there being no engine mods and presumably no suspension mods either, looking at the ride height.
I kind of agree with GaBe511, I'd say somewhere in the mid $30k range.
However, there are a few cleaner and truly unmolested Evo IXs -- remember that South Coast Mitsubishi still has a couple of new, untitled ones that I have seen in person multiple times, since I live a couple miles away from there.

jesus christ that is pretty, my evo 9 has 34k miles on it, it's been mia for almost 9 months, built beyond stock, i wanted to keep the 6speed so it cost me to rebuild, I hate to say it but if I could do it all over again i'd probably leave it stock-ish
"Clean", "Mint", "stock", and "unmolested" sure don't mean what they used to.
For that car, I'd put it back to stock, ask $30k, and take the highest offer. Actual sale price would then depend on the amount of patience the seller has LOL

Evo9seller -- I had good results when I sold my EvoIX on BAT (Bring a Trailer)... If you want to sell, I'd recommend seeing if they'll accept your car. As some of the others suggested, if you can remove the stickers and other "personalization" touches, it will help.
With BAT, your professionalism and communication is key. There will be people who will complain about stuff, ask what your reserve is, etc., but there's also people who are more positive/constructive. Just stay focused on the positives and you should have a good result. Clean Evos have been selling for $28K-$39K (mine sold in this range). The one tricky part is payment -- ideally, the person shows up with a cashiers check, but in most cases they wire you the money and the car is picked up by a freight company. It's a bit of a risky game since you're exposed if you mail the title first, and they're exposed if they wire the funds first. I believe there are 3rd party escrow companies you can pay to hold both the title and money while things get sorted -- in my case, the buyer trusted me and wired the funds.
If you want to PM me with other questions, I'd be happy to share my experience.
Good luck!

haha, I’m the buyer. I don’t win that often though lol. It’s legit, growing up I had a 4g43t galant. I always looked at the evo as my inspiration. I been itchin to find a car which could connect me to my roots, that particular car did. Hopefully I didn’t over pay to much 🤦🏽♂️, hence by searching I was lead to this tread. Realistically how good/bad did I do?

Like everyone says "it's worth what someone paid".
I was surprised and gives us all hope if we decide to sell 😂
