Evo IX used car pricing: Thousands over book value
This past Dec, I bought my 05 RR MR with 56k Miles for $19k. I shopped around for about 45 days, I wanted something that wasn't ragged out/beat to ****. I ended up buying a car built by HOP with a 2.4 4G64 and all supporting mods. I think it easily would have pulled $21-23k if it wasn't winter time.
I'm quite happy w/the car.

I think the EVO9 hold the value better than the EVO8. I just got my EVO back (bought it back from the person I sold it to) for 22k with 65k miles on it. I think its bit more than what i wanted to pay but I was the first owner and i know the car's history.
Of course it’s going to hold its value better — when it was only made for one model year to the VIII’s three, it’s going to be slightly rarer.
Why did you get rid of your Evo in the first place?

Back in November 2004 I bought a brand new evo8 MR in WW. Owned the car till I sold it in 2011. Regret it ever since. But I had to do it at the time. 6 years later I just picked up a 2006 GG evo MR with 33k miles. And this one is going be kept in my garage next to my S2000 as my collection. I will put about 1000-3000 miles on each car depending on weather. But I’m happy I got the Evo back!

Reviving an old thread. What’s everyone thoughts on evo values now ? I keep telling everyone my evo 9 will be worth something one day but it’s tough to really know. Here in Australia you can’t buy a r32gtr or a r34 gtr for less than $100k aud - decent ones that are not flogged with less than 100000kms on the clock are priced near $200k. And none of these examples are stock.
Can an evo 9 be put in a similar category to gtrs in terms of rapid price growth over the next 5 years ?
there is only half a douzen 9’s for sale in au currently and prices range from 33k for a flogged one to 65k for a heavily modified example. I have been checking this regularly, 6 months ago you could find a 9 advertised for around 30k so it would appear asking prices are increasing.
everyone I have spoken to says the car must be stock and very low kms, yet that doesn’t seem to stand true when we look at what gtrs are doing.
anyhow I’m holding onto mine and believe it’s one of the better models out there/relatively rare (it’s a my07 year which is probably the latest date of delivery for a 9, factory recaros, inter cooler water spray, double din dash, gps tracking etc). Still only 80000 kms on clock. It does have a lot of engine and drivetrains upgrades though so it certainly isn’t stock
interested in everyone’s opinion
